“Thanks to the vest, my baby is alive”: Happy’s Story

The marks remained on the vest. The fear stayed with those who lived through the attack. Today, we share the account of Happy’s owner, whose dog has once again been attacked by an off-leash dog.

The message from Happy’s owner begins with these words:

“Thanks to the @dogarmourpro vest, my baby is alive.”

According to her post, an off-leash dog lunged at Happy and bit him on the neck. During the attack, his collar broke and his protective vest was pulled off.

This was not their first experience of this kind. They had already been through another attack the previous year.

A marked vest and an enormous sense of relief

Afterwards, Happy’s owner showed the vest and the marks left around its neck area. To her, those marks represented what Happy might have suffered without that protective barrier.

When she bathed and checked him, she says she found only a tiny graze, which she believes happened when the vest was pulled off.

Happy was doing well. But the emotional impact remained:

“We’re both shaking again.”

Because an attack does not end when the other dog lets go. The distress, uncertainty and fear of it happening again can follow you into the next walk.
